Jo Morgan and Wayne Mathieu take the opportunity to clean up the flowers around WFI on the first sunny day in years! Well really not years but it does seem like we haven’t seen the sun in a long time!

Willie Dumont started attending Work First, Inc (then called Sandy River Rehabilitation) in September of 1980. On April 17, 2009 several days after his 80th birthday he is offically retiring 29 years later.

Willie has come along way from Detroit, Michigan where he was born in 1929. At the age of 12 Willie was moved to Pineland where he lived until 1980. Willie left Pineland and moved to his current home “Our House” in Farmington where he continues to reside.

Willie loves food, where ever he can find it, and especially the free-range coffee! He loves to rock and go with friends to get a cup of coffee at McDonalds. He has his favorite treasures he likes to collect and he relies on his routine to stay the same.

We will miss seeing Willie in his favorite chair but wish him all the best in his retirement!

Good Luck Amie!

April Fool’s

Posted in Uncategorized on April 1st, 2009 by webmaster

The leadership at WFI pulled a good April Fool’s joke on the staff at staff meeting this morning. Nichole explained how the state was looking to day programs to do more cross training to make staff better able to work with all consumers. Then she passed out schedules to all staff. Some staff were excited to look at who they were working with all day. Some were terrified! Before people started getting too upset Nichole let them know that it was an April Fool’s Day joke!
